My name is Rama Moussa Aleech and I am currently a dual-enrolled senior at Michigan Islamic Academy and Washtenaw Community College. I have been attending Michigan Islamic Academy since Kindergarten and will soon be considered an MIA alumnus. Although I was born and raised in the United States, I am Syrian and continue to visit Damascus frequently. I am currently 17 years old and plan to pursue a career relating to the medical field. That was part of the reason I chose to do my senior project on cardiovascular testing in sports. The other reason this topic stood out to me was because of its importance. There have been various cases around the United States and some cases with unknown reasons predicted to be because of cardiovascular diseases. Without the proper awareness and precautions, a student or athlete’s life can truly be at risk.
